Current state scheme announcements are the newest layer on top of the durable schemes covered under Gujarat's economy topics. Read this as 'what changed this budget', not as a fixed list.
Mental model
Never memorise a scheme as a name. Memorise it as a five-slot card: LEVEL (central or state) → MINISTRY or department → TARGET GROUP → BENEFIT TYPE (cash transfer, subsidy, insurance, infrastructure, training) → LAUNCH YEAR. Names in Gujarati and Hindi are deliberately similar, so the target group is what actually distinguishes them: a girl-child scheme, a farmer income scheme and a health insurance scheme can never be confused once you carry the target group with the name.

A scheme headline in the news is either genuinely new, or a revision (renamed, re-funded, eligibility widened) of something already covered elsewhere in the syllabus. Recognising which bin a headline belongs to stops you from treating an old scheme's facelift as brand-new material to memorise from scratch.

In detail
- PM-KISAN is a central income-support scheme paying eligible landholding farmer families a fixed amount a year in three equal instalments through direct benefit transfer.
- Ayushman Bharat provides hospitalisation cover to identified poor and vulnerable families; Gujarat implements it convergently with its own state health assurance scheme.
- The Mid-Day Meal programme, now run as PM POSHAN, provides a cooked meal to children in government and government-aided schools.
- Gujarat's tribal development programme centred on the eastern tribal belt and the state's Sagarkhedu approach for coastal areas are the two classic area-based state initiatives.
- Most welfare payments now flow through Direct Benefit Transfer into an Aadhaar-linked bank account, which is why Jan Dhan accounts, Aadhaar and mobile are described as the enabling trinity.
Where people slip
- Do not memorise a specific outlay figure for a scheme from an old note as if it were current — outlays are revised every budget cycle.
